After having played for 46 minutes, Miguel Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maya FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Viegas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Maya FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Cardoso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Maya FC got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Viegas. Jorge Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogério Martins in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nuno Setúbal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute, Bernardo Coimbra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Santarém kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Jorge Cardoso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vilas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 67th minute Bernardo Coimbra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Setúbal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Setúbal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maya FC. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Maya FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
