After having played for 17 minutes, Joaquim Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bonaval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bonaval's Gonçalo Brás proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Bonaval from getting a goal against them. Abel Moutinho might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diamantino Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Moutinho ran back to his position shaking his head. Joaquim Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Bonaval booed when Falcao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diamantino Torres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abel Moutinho's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Diamantino Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Afonso Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Falcao fans jumped to their feet. In the 48th minute Joaquim Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonso Carneiro was the one to do the kick off. In the 66th match minute, Bonaval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Abreu to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute Afonso Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Brás saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Moutinho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Diamantino Torres when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sérgio Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Falcao's zone, Joaquim Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diamantino Torres came out of the goal and Joaquim Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim Fonseca's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Diamantino Torres skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The tension between the Falcao and the Bonaval players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Falcao's Sérgio Moniz got a free kick in the 82nd minute. If Abel Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Torres having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bonaval walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
