Murteirinha's Fernando Borba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Murteirinha from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute, Sérgio Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 24 played minutes SC Sistelos got a freekick which was hit by Óscar Leal. José Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Valente having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Afonso Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Sistelos's protests and gave Afonso Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, one of SC Sistelos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Sistelos. Abel Valente had in the 64thth minute some difficulties stopping Carlos Cardoso's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to SC Sistelos getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Afonso Nascimento hit a great ball. José Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Murteirinha's José Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When SC Sistelos's Vicente Aguiar in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. SC Sistelos were furious when Óscar Leal was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 95 minutes into the match, SC Sistelos's goalkeeper Abel Valente had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Sá. Domingos Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
