Américo Henriques hit a great ball. In the 8th minute of the match Gaspar Jesus sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Barros skillfully saved the ball. During the 9th minute of the match Américo Henriques completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Américo Henriques a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of SC Cansados booed when Mourilhe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Américo Henriques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Faro charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Faro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Manuel Faro kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. When %teams%'s Cristiano Antunes was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 1-0 just inside the left pole, 18 minutes into the game. José Barros was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristiano Antunes during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. SC Cansados's Lúcio Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Matos in the 27th minute of play. José Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lúcio Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Matos in the 36th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marco Matos in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Fontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. André Cardoso took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lúcio Fontes. Lúcio Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Afonso Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the SC Cansados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Oliveira couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Matos was the one to do the kick off. Manuel Faro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mourilhe FC's Marco Matos got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Marco Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Mourilhe FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Álvaro Fernandes hit a great ball. In the 66th minute SC Cansados were awarded a corner. Gaspar Jesus went to the cornerflag to take it. Gaspar Jesus made a great header on SC Cansados's corner, it was just that Mourilhe FC's José Barros managed to reach the ball for a save. If Cristiano Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 80 minutes, Marco Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mourilhe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Cristiano Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cansados's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cristiano Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the SC Cansados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Antunes couldn't finish the play. José Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Matos might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lúcio Fontes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Matos ran back to his position shaking his head. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mourilhe FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
