Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adolfo Ferro to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Nexebra FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Domingos Viegas. The supporters of Nexebra FC booed when SC Safira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Paredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Catarino Pacheco managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Safira's supporters rose to their feet, but Catarino Pacheco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Domingos Viegas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Alfredo Amorim skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 74th minute Adolfo Ferro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Paredes hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Catarino Pacheco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Amorim having to interfere. SC Safira's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
