Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emanuel Paiva started the match with the kick off. Paulo Gomes hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Vasco Freitas, 4 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nuno Jesus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Paiva in the 7th minute of the match. Emanuel Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuno Jesus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Paiva's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tanganheira's zone, Óscar Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Lima came out of the goal and Óscar Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tanganheira's Afonso Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Ferro in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, David Paredes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimonde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tanganheira the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Gimonde:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tanganheira:s goal. When the match had been going on for 24 minutes, Tanganheira's Alexandre Carneiro got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nuno Jesus. Afonso Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Óscar Rocha in the 29th minute of play. If Vasco Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Óscar Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Afonso Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Óscar Rocha made a precise shot to the right of Afonso Lima. Tanganheira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tanganheira's goalkeeper Afonso Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emanuel Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Jesus having to interfere. In the 47th minute, one of Tanganheira:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tanganheira. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Óscar Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Emanuel Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tanganheira's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nuno Jesus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 60 minutes into the match, Tanganheira's Emanuel Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Jesus narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Paiva in the 64th minute of play forced Gimonde's goalkeeper Nuno Jesus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Júlio Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Tanganheira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Sousa couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Tanganheira's Paulo Gomes got a free kick in the 70th minute. Nuno Jesus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Paiva in the 74th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Óscar Rocha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Afonso Lima. That made the score 1-3 in the 81 minute of play. Nuno Jesus came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Tanganheira's Júlio Sousa. But to his dismay, Júlio Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 100th minute Emanuel Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Jesus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Gimonde players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
