Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alexandre Teixeira got the match started through his kick off. Mário Setúbal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Mota in the 3rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Aceifaos defense, José Mota kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mário Setúbal. The Aceifaos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mário Setúbal should have stopped the shot. In the 12th minute José Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Setúbal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Nuno Cardoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aceifaos. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, José Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Marmeleira's supporters rose to their feet, but José Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Setúbal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the match, Aceifaos's Jorge Pedroso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Cardoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jorge Pedroso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aceifaos's Alexandre Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mário Setúbal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Nogueira in the 28th minute of play. Jorge Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Teixeira in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nuno Cardoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th match minute, SC Marmeleira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Jorge Pedroso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aceifaos's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Pedroso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nuno Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mário Setúbal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nuno Cardoso didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 44th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Mota to make the kick off. Alexandre Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Mário Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mário Setúbal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Mota in the 56th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jorge Pedroso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nuno Cardoso was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Alexandre Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Cardoso having to interfere. The Aceifaos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. A collision led to Aceifaos getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Gabriel Coelho hit a great ball. If Alexandre Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Pedroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Nogueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mário Setúbal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play.
