The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 11 minutes into the match, SC Alvogas's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Viegas came free, but Simão Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Simão Barros managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Piquete's Rodrigo Matos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Piquete's Rodrigo Matos got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 18 minutes, Álvaro Oliveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Alvogas and the Piquete players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th minute, Álvaro Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaspar Viegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gaspar Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. Piquete's Alexandre Resende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Queirós in the 31st minute of play. Catarino Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Mariano Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexandre Resende was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Rodrigo Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Piquete players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Alvogas were winning 0-1.

Simão Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Viegas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodrigo Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Simão Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Alvogas's Carlos Sousa got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Álvaro Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simão Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 78 minutes into the game, Mariano Queirós cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Alexandre Resende was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Catarino Oliveira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 88th minute. SC Alvogas's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Mariano Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaspar Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Barros having to interfere. Rodrigo Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The SC Alvogas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
