In the 4th match minute, SC Samoes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Borba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Gustavo Faro made a huge save. SC Samoes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borreles the free kick. António Faro hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 13 played minutes Borreles got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Borba. António Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Delfim Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delfim Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Reis in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute, António Faro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of SC Samoes booed when Borreles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute Jorge Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Ramos made a kick off. Gustavo Faro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Gustavo Faro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Borba in the 55th minute of the match. Jorge Reis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Delfim Martins having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Reis got free with Delfim Martins in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Pinto in the 90th minute of play forced Borreles's goalkeeper Delfim Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Ramos struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Gustavo Faro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borreles.
