David Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Tavares in the 4th minute of play. When Jorge Soares came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Tortomil FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Soares couldn't finish the play. If Hugo Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodrigo Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristóvão Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiago Tavares scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of David Abreu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristiano Pedroso hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Olivais FC's Tiago Tavares got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. David Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiago Tavares's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Tortomil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Tavares came free, but David Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Baptista having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Hugo Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Abreu was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Rodrigo Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristóvão Simões in the 37th minute of play. Cristóvão Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. When Ricardo Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olivais FC's protests and gave Ricardo Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th minute, Ricardo Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 48 minutes, Nuno Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olivais FC and the Tortomil FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half Olivais FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiago Tavares was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tortomil FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gonçalo Pacheco was slow to take the kick. During this time Olivais FC's players had a chance to rest. Tortomil FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristóvão Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Baptista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Tortomil FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Olivais FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Olivais FC.
