Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Abel Borges started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Vasco Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Guarda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the game, Abel Borges cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Amílcar Cabral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 17th of the match, Marco Guarda tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Vasco Rocha got in the way and made a wonderful save. Ouro's Amílcar Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Teixeira in the 28th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel Borges in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amílcar Cabral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Humberto Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santins's Vasco Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Guarda in the 39th minute of play. Amílcar Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute of the match Afonso Bessa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amílcar Cabral skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
In the 57th minute, Ouro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Diamantino Teixeira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Borges in the 66th minute of play forced Ouro's goalkeeper Amílcar Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Marco Guarda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vasco Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ouro's zone, Diamantino Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílcar Cabral came out of the goal and Diamantino Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Humberto Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the game, Ouro's Marco Guarda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vasco Rocha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Guarda in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Rocha saved Santins from getting behind. When Abel Borges came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Santins fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Borges couldn't finish the play. Many of Santins's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Santins may have spent more time on the ball, but Ouro were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
