The tension between the Vermum and the SC Arnoia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 3 played minutes Vermum got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Borges. Eduardo Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Cristiano Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rui Esteves was a little too slow when Sebastião Henriques got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. With his leg Rui Esteves managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Vermum's Augusto Borges fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albertino Brás got free with Rui Esteves in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Albertino Brás blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rui Esteves having to make a save. With an all-out effort, Vermum's Rui Esteves threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sebastião Henriques, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of SC Arnoia booed when Vermum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Brás didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rui Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastião Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute Albertino Brás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albertino Brás might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rui Esteves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Fernandes struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Cristiano Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Arnoia. In the 81st minute Eduardo Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Assis's late challenge caught a SC Arnoia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Assis helped the player get up and apologised. Pedro Assis hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Eduardo Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Vermum's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Alves came free, but Cristiano Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Vermum's goalkeeper Cristiano Maia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Fernandes. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Arnoia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vermum.
