Afonso Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Anjos was a little too slow when Eusébio Guerreiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. After a rather tough play, Pousas's Pedro Queirós got a free kick in the 18th minute. Domingos Gueifão kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pousas's Américo Gueifão got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute of the match Rodrigo Andrade sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Martins skillfully saved the ball. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by António Nascimento got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 41 played minutes SC Avo got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Nogueira. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Afonso Anjos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. SC Avo's Afonso Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Nogueira in the 47th minute of play forced Pousas's goalkeeper Ricardo Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sérgio Nogueira was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Sérgio Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Avo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sérgio Nogueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the game, António Nascimento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Afonso Anjos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sérgio Nogueiras short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Ricardo Martins to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 65 minutes into the game, Rui Freitas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pousas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Avo the free kick. A collision led to Pousas getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Rui Freitas hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, SC Avo's Afonso Borges ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardo Martins. Ricardo Martins yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Pousas's zone, Afonso Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Martins came out of the goal and Afonso Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Afonso Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Borges's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Martins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Sérgio Nogueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Martins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sérgio Nogueira ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 90th minute, SC Avo's Sérgio Nogueira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. If Afonso Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, SC Avo failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
