André Marques shot from long distance in the 19th minute, but Ricardo Martins was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. In the 23rd match minute, Pousas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Reis to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Brito might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Martins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafael Brito ran back to his position shaking his head. SC Penajoia's Vicente Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Guerreiro in the 31st minute of play. Eusébio Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If António Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in SC Penajoia's zone, Eusébio Guerreiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Gonçalves came out of the goal and Eusébio Guerreiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Martins. Pousas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Correia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Eusébio Guerreiro made the kick off in the second half. Vicente Gonçalves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusébio Guerreiro's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. António Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Vicente Gonçalves made a huge save. Rodrigo Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ricardo Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Pousas's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Brito came free, but Ricardo Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Guerreiro in the 73rd minute of the match. Rui Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Gonçalves having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, SC Penajoia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Correia to maneuver through the defense. António Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Xavier Reis fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pousas's protests and gave Xavier Reis a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes Pousas got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Reis. Ricardo Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Brito in the 90th minute of play. SC Penajoia's Vicente Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Guerreiro in the 91st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Eusébio Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pousas's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Gonçalves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pousas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Penajoia.
