If Afonso Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 4th minute, Bento Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cassaca's Mariano Gueifão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Resende in the 7th minute of play. Afonso Branco struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Mariano Gueifão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Imaginario. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, António Resende put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mariano Gueifão. When Imaginario's António Resende in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mariano Gueifão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Resende in the 31st minute of play. Basílio Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Mariano Gueifão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When António Resende fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Imaginario's protests and gave António Resende a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th minute, Basílio Nogueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Basílio Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes in the game, Basílio Nogueira fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without André Nogueira having to interfere. In the 46th minute António Resende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Gueifão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duarte Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. António Resende was the one to do the kick off. André Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Leite in the 54th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Branco in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mariano Gueifão saved Cassaca from getting behind. When Imaginario's Afonso Branco in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cassaca's goalie prevented a goal. When Afonso Branco came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Imaginario fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Branco couldn't finish the play. Afonso Campos hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Cassaca's Mariano Gueifão got control of the ball when Afonso Branco tried to sneak it across the goal line. André Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Albertino Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Oliveira Lisboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over André Nogueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oliveira Lisboa ran back to his position shaking his head. Imaginario's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
