The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. António Brito hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Eusébio Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Abreu in the 6th minute of play. José Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, José Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eusébio Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th match minute, SC Pechao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. José Abreu succeeded in the game's 23rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In the 28th minute, José Abreu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nazerete FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. José Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. With his leg Eusébio Soares managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Nazerete FC's José Silva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. José Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rui Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Soares having to interfere. The supporters of Nazerete FC booed when SC Pechao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute Rui Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, António Ferreira notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Nazerete FC's Domingos Soares. Domingos Soares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eusébio Soares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After having played for 82 minutes, José Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nazerete FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute António Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If José Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Soares having to interfere. The Nazerete FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nazerete FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
