When Lúcio Henriques came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the SC Biqueiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Henriques couldn't finish the play. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chiqueiro FC! In the 12thth minute of the game José Alves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Biqueiras's Manuel Gueifão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chiqueiro FC's José Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If José Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fábio Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fábio Andrade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Biqueiras booed when Chiqueiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A long shot from Xavier Matos in the 28th minute of play was well struck, but António Cruz made a really good save at the right post. In the 30th minute José Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Gueifão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Lúcio Henriques managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Biqueiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Lúcio Henriques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. António Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Neves in the 40th minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, SC Biqueiras's goal looked a bit too open when José Alves came free, but Manuel Gueifão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Teixeira to make the kick off. A hard shot 51 in the game by José Alves from a close distance when the talented Manuel Gueifão managed to make a qualified save. SC Biqueiras's players were relieved. SC Biqueiras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Paulo Teixeira scored to the left of an out of position Manuel Gueifão, making the score, 1-1. António Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. If José Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Paulo Teixeira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Manuel Gueifão, passed just outside the right post. Bruno Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Lúcio Henriques had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of António Cruz. Chiqueiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lúcio Henriques was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Chiqueiro FC's zone, Lúcio Henriques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Cruz came out of the goal and Lúcio Henriques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the match, Chiqueiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lúcio Henriques came free, but António Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Biqueiras's goalkeeper Manuel Gueifão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 87 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chiqueiro FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Xavier Matos was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Biqueiras's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on SC Biqueiras's corner Xavier Matos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and António Cruz quite easily take care of the ball. When Emílio Lisboa fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chiqueiro FC's protests and gave Emílio Lisboa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, one of Chiqueiro FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chiqueiro FC. The referee gave SC Biqueiras a penalty, 97 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Xavier Matos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chiqueiro FC's António Cruz. 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Biqueiras fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chiqueiro FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
