José Brás kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. António Morais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Fernando Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Papadussos booed when Colaria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Paredes came out of the goal and António Morais tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Colaria's Albertino Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Garcia in the 44th minute of play. Joel Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. SC Papadussos's Fernando Paredes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save SC Papadussos from getting a goal against them. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Colaria's David Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernando Paredes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Fernando Paredes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, António Morais managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colaria's supporters rose to their feet, but António Morais was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Paredes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Branco hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes Colaria got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Maia. In the 74th minute, Bento Baptista sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Colaria's Albertino Macedo didn't even have to move. In the 78th match minute, SC Papadussos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Leão to maneuver through the defense. David Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Fernando Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 85th minute of the match José Reis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave José Reis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Fernando Paredes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. SC Papadussos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
