Paulo Henriques was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Abel Nascimento. Inácio Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 52nd minute, Diamantino Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the game, SC Almaceda's David Freitas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Henriques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in SC Alrote's zone, Inácio Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Henriques came out of the goal and Inácio Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Alrote's Diamantino Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Almaceda's Jorge Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save SC Almaceda from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Diamantino Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Alrote's supporters rose to their feet, but Diamantino Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. SC Almaceda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diamantino Abreu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Inácio Moura came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the SC Almaceda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Moura couldn't finish the play. If Inácio Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
