The supporters of Almeida FC booed when SC Campanario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Catarino Costa in the 5th minute of play forced SC Campanario's goalkeeper Adolfo Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Barbosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolfo Sá was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Pedro Antunes made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Guerreiro in the 11th minute. When Gabriel Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Almeida FC's protests and gave Gabriel Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. Gabriel Barbosa hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Pedro Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Castro in the 22nd minute of the match. Catarino Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Gabriel Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almeida FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, SC Campanario's Paulo Trindade got a free kick in the 34th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Gabriel Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almeida FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Catarino Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Adolfo Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adolfo Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Catarino Costa in the 42nd minute of the match. If Gabriel Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afonso Castro made a kick off. When Gabriel Barbosa came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Almeida FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Barbosa couldn't finish the play. Jorge Branco hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. 68 minutes into the match, Almeida FC's Miguel Anjos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Adolfo Sá didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel Barbosa went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Álvaro Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Afonso Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Pedro Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gabriel Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adolfo Sá read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Afonso Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Barbosa got free with Adolfo Sá in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Afonso Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Antunes having to interfere. Afonso Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
