In the 8th minute Daniel Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Baptista in the 12th minute of play forced Lombos FC's goalkeeper Afonso Aleixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Espinca FC's goalkeeper Eusébio Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Soares. In the 17th minute Daniel Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Catarino Nascimento charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A collision led to Lombos FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Diogo Brito hit a great ball. The supporters of Lombos FC booed when Espinca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Borba didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Soares received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eusébio Brito came out and tried to block the shot, but João Soares slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 36th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oliveira Nunes got free with Eusébio Brito in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute, Jaime Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

54 minutes into the match, José Henriques notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Espinca FC's Eusébio Brito. Eusébio Brito was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 57 minutes into the game, Espinca FC's Jorge Ramos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Daniel Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espinca FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Aleixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 82 played minutes Espinca FC got a freekick which was hit by Mário Almeida. When Oliveira Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Lombos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oliveira Nunes couldn't finish the play. Espinca FC's Eusébio Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliveira Nunes in the 93rd minute of play. Eusébio Brito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oliveira Nunes went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score.
