Henrique Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Barbosa having to interfere. In the 18th minute José Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 minutes, Cândido Amaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Serena and the Silveira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Serena's Cândido Amaro got a free kick in the 46th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Carneiro made a kick off. Viriato Carneiro struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Armando Mota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Serena. Gil Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. If Artur Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 69 minutes, Viriato Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Serena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viriato Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Viriato Carneiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Armando Mota. That made the score 1-2 in the 74 minute of play. Silveira FC's Manuel Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gil Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Nogueira in the 80th minute of the match. Henrique Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Barbosa having to interfere. In the 90th minute, José Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Silveira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Carneiro came free, but Armando Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Serena walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
