Carlos Fontes's late challenge caught a SC Peitimao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Fontes helped the player get up and apologised. The Melhorada FC fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Melhorada FC's José Matias looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Delfim Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Cunha in the 17th minute of play forced Melhorada FC's goalkeeper Carlos Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes Melhorada FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fernando Paiva who took care of the corner kick. João Ferro thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Carlos Pires, a very annoying self made goal in the 19th minute which led to 1-1. Emanuel Rodrigues hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Jorge Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Carlos Pires didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Peitimao. In the 34th minute, Fernando Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, José Matias put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rafael Ramos. In the 43rd minute, SC Peitimao's Delfim Aleixo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Matias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alexandre Leite struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Xavier Domingues hit a great ball. Rafael Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Matias in the 73rd minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Melhorada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Aleixo came free, but Carlos Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Rafael Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Melhorada FC's José Matias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Ramos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emanuel Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Melhorada FC's Carlos Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Aleixo in the 91st minute of play. Carlos Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Aleixo in the 93rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, José Matias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melhorada FC's supporters rose to their feet, but José Matias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Melhorada FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
