When Fernando Domingues came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Lobrigos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Domingues couldn't finish the play. When Lobrigos's Fernando Domingues in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Rodas's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Lobrigos's Pedro Azevedo got a free kick in the 11th minute. Lúcio Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Freitas in the 13th minute of play. Basílio Assunção took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cândido Magalhães in the 23rd minute of play forced Lobrigos's goalkeeper Lúcio Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Viegas took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lúcio Leal. Lúcio Leal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Domingues in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Assunção prevented the ball from getting in the gole. André Leiria struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Basílio Assunção didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lobrigos. After 38 minutes, Filipe Gonçalves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Rodas and the Lobrigos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Filipe Gonçalves hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 40 played minutes, Lobrigos's Miguel Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Basílio Assunção came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lobrigos reached it. Fernando Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Assunção having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Domingues to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Rui Viegas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Rodas were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Lobrigos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nuno Amaro took the corner. SC Rodas's Nuno Amaro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lúcio Leal in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rui Viegas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogério Guerreiro charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rogério Guerreiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes SC Rodas got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Guerreiro. After a defensive mix-up in Lobrigos's zone, Rui Viegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Leal came out of the goal and Rui Viegas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Manuel Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Rodas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st play minute André Leiria came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Basílio Assunção. 1-1. After some careless play in the Lobrigos defense, Rui Viegas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lúcio Leal. The Lobrigos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lúcio Leal should have stopped the shot. During the 81st minute of the match Filipe Gonçalves completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Filipe Gonçalves a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Lobrigos booed when SC Rodas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Leiria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basílio Assunção made an important save on a dangerous shot by André Leiria in the 89th minute. SC Rodas's Rogério Guerreiro got his second yellow card of the match in the 90th minute. The referee ordered Rogério Guerreiro off the ground. In the 92nd minute of the match Pedro Azevedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Basílio Assunção showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fernando Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. André Leiria had several of the SC Rodas's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 96 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Basílio Assunção as he didn't even see the shot coming. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
