In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Algaz's goalkeeper Cristóvão Borba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Algaz's Gaspar Dantas got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Manuel Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Catarino Pinto fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Algaz's protests and gave Catarino Pinto a yellow card for diving instead. Catarino Pinto kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Rui Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Cristóvão Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Viegas in the 37th minute of play forced Algaz's goalkeeper Cristóvão Borba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Algaz's Catarino Pinto got his second yellow card of the match in the 37th minute. The referee ordered Catarino Pinto off the ground. In the 38th minute, Catarino Pinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eduardo Moura got free with Basílio Assunção in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rui Viegas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduardo Moura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, SC Rodas's Nuno Amaro broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Eduardo Moura came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Algaz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Moura couldn't finish the play. The Algaz fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when Algaz's Eduardo Moura looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
