The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. António Lopes lost his temper 4 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of SC Moujuzao:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Corujeira FC:s goal. If Joaquim Lisboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vítor Pacheco hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the game, Eusébio Coimbra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Moujuzao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corujeira FC the free kick. The supporters of Corujeira FC booed when SC Moujuzao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Coimbra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Gustavo Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Azevedo's late challenge caught a Corujeira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Moujuzao's Pedro Azevedo got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Manuel Ferro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corujeira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Ferro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Artur Monteiro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Ferro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 27 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Moujuzao's zone, Daniel Ferro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Monteiro came out of the goal and Daniel Ferro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Artur Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Ferro, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Daniel Ferros short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Artur Monteiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pedro Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Cristiano Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquim Lisboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Joaquim Lisboa put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cristiano Setúbal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Joaquim Lisboa made the kick off in the second half. Cristiano Setúbal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joaquim Lisboa in the 54th minute. Joaquim Lisboa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristiano Setúbal having to make a save. Manuel Ferro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Monteiro having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, SC Moujuzao's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Ferro came free, but Artur Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute of the match, Joaquim Lisboa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cristiano Setúbal was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
