The audience was convinced that Diogo Ferreira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Gueifão was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. 14 minutes into the match, Ribeiro FC's goalkeeper Xavier Pereira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Gonçalves. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Gonçalves got free with Xavier Pereira in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ribeiro FC's Xavier Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Abreu in the 47th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Augusto Morais was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ribeiro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leiros the free kick. The supporters of Leiros booed when Ribeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Morais didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Ribeiro FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
54 minutes into the game, Hélder Jesus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jorge Gueifão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Ribeiro FC booed when Leiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Santarém didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Amaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diogo Ferreira struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Jorge Gueifão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ribeiro FC. 74 minutes into the match, Ribeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Gonçalves came free, but Xavier Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute, Diogo Ferreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Oliveira charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Oliveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th minute, Humberto Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Jorge Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leiros's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xavier Pereira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
