André Ferro came out of the goal and José Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 10 in the game by Daniel Ferro from a close distance when the talented Manuel Azevedo managed to make a qualified save. Espozende FC's players were relieved. Daniel Ferro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Manuel Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barca FC's André Ferro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Antunes in the 14th minute of play. The Espozende FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manuel Azevedo should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Barca FC's Duarte Moura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Azevedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Domingos Moutinho to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Domingos Moutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manuel Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Setúbal's late challenge caught a Barca FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Setúbal helped the player get up and apologised. Espozende FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Abel Oliveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. André Ferro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Barca FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
