After a defensive mix-up in Pedacais's zone, Mário Setúbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simão Valente came out of the goal and Mário Setúbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After 18 minutes, João Freitas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calcada and the Pedacais players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, Óscar Amaral sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Calcada's Manuel Aleixo didn't even have to move. When Francisco Borba came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Calcada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Borba couldn't finish the play. Simão Valente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Setúbal in the 29th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Calcada's goalkeeper Manuel Aleixo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Óscar Mota. Mário Setúbal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Simão Valente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Morais struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Manuel Aleixo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pedacais. After 43 played minutes, Calcada's Paulo Leal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Simão Valente came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Calcada reached it. If David Morais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Filipe Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mário Setúbal made a kick off. If Mário Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 minutes of play Calcada's João Freitas was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Pedacais booed when Calcada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Pedacais's Óscar Amaral tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Mário Setúbal fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Calcada's protests and gave Mário Setúbal a yellow card for diving instead. After 65 played minutes Calcada got a freekick which was hit by Mário Setúbal. Mário Setúbal was extremely unlucky when he, in the 69th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Manuel Aleixo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Óscar Mota's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. A collision led to Pedacais getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Fernando Moreira hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Pedacais's goalkeeper Simão Valente had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Borba. The audience was convinced that David Morais's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Aleixo was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. If Óscar Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Mota in the 84th minute of play forced Calcada's goalkeeper Manuel Aleixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Francisco Borba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calcada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pedacais the free kick. Francisco Borba kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After 88 minutes, João Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calcada and the Pedacais players grew even worse after the yellow card. Calcada were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Pedacais to leave the ground with a draw.
