The wind increased when Joaquim Leiria made the kick off in the second half. SC Assequins's Nuno Morais got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amílcar Amaral's late challenge caught a SC Assequins's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amílcar Amaral helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had been going on for 66 minutes, SC Assequins's Viriato Trindade got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Paulo Lima. 69 minutes into the match, SC Mangona's Rogério Matos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Viana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SC Assequins's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Mangona the free kick. José Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Matos in the 97th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
