The supporters of Granjeiro booed when Douro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Miranda got free with Miguel Setúbal in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 42 minutes, Cristóvão Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Granjeiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristóvão Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Granjeiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Douro FC the free kick.
