SC Pevidal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Coelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Cantelaes's Lourenço Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastião Melo in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, one of SC Pevidal:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lourenço Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastião Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Sebastião Melo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lourenço Pereira. Sebastião Melo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Carlos Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lourenço Pereira having to interfere. A collision led to SC Pevidal getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Gil Cardoso hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandre Nascimento to make the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Sandro Macedo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 53 minutes into the match, SC Pevidal's goalkeeper Sandro Macedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armando Magalhães. Sebastião Melo struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Lourenço Pereira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Pevidal. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Armando Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cantelaes's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandro Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute, Sebastião Melo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Armando Magalhães came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the SC Cantelaes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Magalhães couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cantelaes's zone, Carlos Coelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lourenço Pereira came out of the goal and Carlos Coelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastião Melo scored 2-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lourenço Pereira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lourenço Pereira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Coelho's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Alexandre Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Macedo having to interfere. In the 97th minute, André Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
