Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) António Campos started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When João Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the SC Valpaco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Pereira couldn't finish the play. Henrique Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adelino Moutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Afonso Moutinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Varis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Valpaco the free kick. Alfredo Brás showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Campos in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, SC Valpaco's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Macedo came free, but Adelino Moutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Azevedo lost his temper 17 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Valpaco! Afonso Delgado walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After a rather tough play, SC Valpaco's António Campos got a free kick in the 23rd minute. SC Valpaco's Eduardo Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 32 minutes, João Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Valpaco's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Adelino Moutinho made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Henrique Sá sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eduardo Cruz during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to SC Valpaco getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Eduardo Cruz hit a great ball. Afonso Macedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonso Macedo was the one to do the kick off. SC Varis's Alfredo Brás proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save SC Varis from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mariano Assunção during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Lucas Machado fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Valpaco's protests and gave Lucas Machado a yellow card for diving instead. 59 minutes into the match, SC Valpaco's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Sá came free, but Adelino Moutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adelino Moutinho came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by SC Varis's Henrique Sá. But to his dismay, Henrique Sá quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Afonso Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Moutinho having to interfere. After having played for 72 minutes, Afonso Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Varis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 86 minutes, Afonso Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Varis and the SC Valpaco players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 86 played minutes SC Varis got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Macedo. A collision led to SC Varis getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Afonso Moutinho hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Lourenço Viegas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Varis's Alfredo Brás didn't even have to move. SC Varis's Alfredo Brás proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save SC Varis from getting a goal against them. When Afonso Macedo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Varis fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Valpaco had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
