Américo Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 5 minutes, Carlos Dantas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Escurquela FC and the SC Grovelas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th match minute, Escurquela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Dantas to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute Joel Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th match minute, Escurquela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Dantas to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, SC Grovelas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Afonso Abreu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Henrique Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Rocha having to interfere. SC Grovelas's Joel Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Sousa in the 21st minute of play forced SC Grovelas's goalkeeper Manuel Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute Henrique Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Sousa in the 27th minute of play forced SC Grovelas's goalkeeper Manuel Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes SC Grovelas got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Guerreiro. Cristiano Nunes shot from long distance in the 30th minute, but Manuel Rocha was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Henrique Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Manuel Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 42 minutes, Afonso Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Escurquela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Grovelas's Joel Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Ferro in the 57th minute of play forced Escurquela FC's goalkeeper Alexandre Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Henrique Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Américo Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Joel Ferreira took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexandre Almeida. Alexandre Almeida dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Manuel Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Escurquela FC booed when SC Grovelas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Guerreiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Gonçalo Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 77 in the game by Joel Ferreira from a close distance when the talented Alexandre Almeida managed to make a qualified save. Escurquela FC's players were relieved. 79 minutes into the match, SC Grovelas's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Sousa came free, but Manuel Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Escurquela FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristiano Nunes in the 81st minute. A nice corner shot did that Cristiano Nunes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Manuel Rocha quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. SC Grovelas's Manuel Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Abreu in the 86th minute of play. Sandro Guarda kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After 92 played minutes Escurquela FC got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Guarda. The SC Grovelas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
