The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diamantino Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Paulo Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diogo Trindade during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Cabecais's Diogo Trindade got a free kick in the 15th minute. SC Cabecais's Tiago Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Salir FC's zone, Bento Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliveira Santos came out of the goal and Bento Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38thth minute of the game Bento Lima who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salir FC's Oliveira Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Oliveira Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bento Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacinto Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Afonso Campos fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Cabecais's protests and gave Afonso Campos a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Salir FC booed when SC Cabecais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Bento Lima made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, José Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salir FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Cabecais the free kick. The supporters of SC Cabecais booed when Salir FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Cabecais's Paulo Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Correia in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Salir FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Lima came free, but Oliveira Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tiago Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Diamantino Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Aleixo. SC Cabecais's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diamantino Correia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 69 minutes into the match, Salir FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bento Lima came free, but Oliveira Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bento Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Joaquim Jesus was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 79th minute Diamantino Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Aleixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diamantino Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Aleixo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Correia in the 87th minute of play forced SC Cabecais's goalkeeper Paulo Aleixo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Cabecais's Paulo Aleixo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Correia in the 89th minute of play. The Salir FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Cabecais had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
