Miguel Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Castro in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 55th minute, SC Mendigos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after André Pereira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Nuno Bessa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Moncao FC's zone, Paulo Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Carvalho came out of the goal and Paulo Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Manuel Luz had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 62 minutes into the game, Manuel Moniz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moncao FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Mendigos the free kick. The supporters of SC Mendigos booed when Moncao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Moniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After having played for 70 minutes, Raul Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Mendigos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 minutes, Pedro Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Moncao FC and the SC Mendigos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th match minute, Moncao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Barros to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Gil Moreira managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Moncao FC's André Pereira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nuno Bessa struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Gil Moreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moncao FC. In the 94th minute, André Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Moncao FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
