Negrais FC's Delfim Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Moniz in the 32nd minute of play. Daniel Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Negrais FC booed when Encourados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Dias in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos Leão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 46 minutes into the match, Encourados's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Pinho came free, but Carlos Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The referee ignored Encourados's protests and gave Jorge Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Leão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Fábio Anjos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Delfim Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Negrais FC defense, Artur Moniz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delfim Cruz. The Negrais FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delfim Cruz should have stopped the shot. Delfim Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Anjos in the 76th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Daniel Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Barbosa was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 89 played minutes Encourados got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Barbosa. Carlos Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Pinho in the 90th minute of the match.
