The supporters of SC Cheira booed when Roqueiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Raul Machado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emílio Fonseca. Raul Machado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 25th minute, Humberto Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raul Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute, Humberto Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roqueiro's Emílio Fonseca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Roqueiro from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raul Machado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Branco during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Roqueiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emílio Fonseca should have stopped the shot. Nuno Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Nuno Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Cheira's Joaquim Figueiredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Almeida in the 86th minute of play. If Humberto Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Humberto Simões blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emílio Fonseca having to make a save. SC Cheira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
