Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Jaime Tavares started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vessada FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 2nd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Gonçalo Pinto, was totally fooled by Pomarao's Rogério Luz, who 4 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 10th minute, Cristóvão Setúbal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 12 minutes of play, Pomarao's Heitor Guarda made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonçalo Pinto was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19th minute Joel Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Pinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Heitor Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vessada FC's Gonçalo Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Moura in the 33rd minute of play. Joel Moura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonçalo Pinto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. When Viriato Moniz fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vessada FC's protests and gave Viriato Moniz a yellow card for diving instead. Viriato Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When Joel Moura came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Pomarao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Moura couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The wind increased when Joel Moura made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pomarao's goalkeeper Afonso Amaro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 60 minutes of play, Pomarao's Heitor Guarda made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonçalo Pinto was left in no man's land by his defense there! 69 minutes into the match, Vessada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Moura came free, but Gonçalo Pinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Amaro having to interfere. If Jaime Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristóvão Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Amaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Jaime Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Amaro having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vessada FC's zone, Joel Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonçalo Pinto came out of the goal and Joel Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Heitor Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Tavares in the 96th minute of play. Daniel Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Vessada FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Pinheiro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pomarao's Daniel Pinheiro got a free kick in the 96th minute. Pomarao's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
