José Matos got in the 26th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Nuno Pires handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Gustavo Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Povoas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Anjos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oliveira Viegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The referee ignored Povoas FC's protests and gave Ricardo Antunes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Povoas FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ricardo Antunes hit a great ball. In the 52ndth minute of the game José Matos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Povoas FC's Nuno Pires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Casalao's zone, Gustavo Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Anjos came out of the goal and Gustavo Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th match minute, Casalao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Marco Anjos managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Povoas FC's Oliveira Viegas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 66 minutes, José Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casalao's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
