With a left leg Vicente Domingues saved Bacal from getting behind. In the 27th minute of the match, Rui Machado tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Inácio Monteiro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Rui Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute, Bacal's Rui Machado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 38th minute, Bacal's Rafael Delgado seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rafael Delgado the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Bacal protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rafael Delgado had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 37th minute, one of Bacal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bacal. Adelino Machado charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adelino Machado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th minute, Adelino Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Américo Pinto got free with Inácio Monteiro in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Américo Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bruno Gomes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Rodrigo Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cancelo's goalkeeper Inácio Monteiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Cancelo's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Pinto came free, but Inácio Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Pinto in the 62nd minute of play forced Cancelo's goalkeeper Inácio Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Cancelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Cancelo's zone, Américo Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Monteiro came out of the goal and Américo Pinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bruno Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Adelino Machado came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Cancelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Machado couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute Bruno Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bruno Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Américo Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Inácio Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Cancelo's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Pinto came free, but Inácio Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bacal's goalkeeper Vicente Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bacal fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cancelo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
