The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 1-0 became the score in the 4th minute when Manuel Moura elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Eusébio Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Vicente Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Manuel Moura got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Bacal's Vicente Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Leão in the 35th minute of play. Eusébio Fernandes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Vicente Domingues skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 38th minute Rui Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Bacal's Américo Pinto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. António Garcia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Manuel Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Domingues having to interfere.

António Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Almeida in the 58th minute of play. Manuel Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Vicente Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Esculca's goalkeeper António Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Américo Pinto. In the 67th minute, Júlio Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esculca's António Garcia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Esculca from getting a goal against them. After 75 played minutes Esculca got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Moura. Bacal's Américo Pinto got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Guerreiro during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 80 played minutes Esculca got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Guerreiro. Eusébio Fernandes struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Vicente Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esculca. Vicente Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Esculca's António Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Machado in the 93rd minute of play. Vicente Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
