If Armando Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SC Forno's Eusébio Ribeiro got a free kick in the 8th minute. Armando Veiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lúcio Marques having to make a save. In the 11th minute Armando Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. António Machado took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sandro Cabral. Sandro Cabral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Rui Leite hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. SC Forno's Manuel Santarém got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The wind increased when Pedro Gaspar made the kick off in the second half. Sandro Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Santarém, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. If Manuel Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Gaspar in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Alfredo Viana fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Forno's protests and gave Alfredo Viana a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes SC Forno got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Viana. If Pedro Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Manuel Santarém ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sandro Cabral was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Nuno Machado might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lúcio Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nuno Machado ran back to his position shaking his head. SC Forno's Lúcio Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Gaspar in the 76th minute of play. SC Forno's Lúcio Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save SC Forno from getting a goal against them. 80 minutes into the game, SC Forno's Manuel Santarém nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sandro Cabral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Armando Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Lúcio Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Afonso Borges fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Forno's protests and gave Afonso Borges a yellow card for diving instead. Afonso Borges hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Pedro Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Marques having to interfere. Malbusca's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
