An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Joel Guarda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Guarda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cete's goalkeeper Cristiano Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Pinheiro having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, SC Gaiate's Daniel Mendes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristiano Pinheiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to SC Gaiate getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. João Viana hit a great ball. Alexandre Trindade kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Jorge Lisboa made a precise shot to the right of Amílcar Domingues. SC Gaiate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. In the 70th minute, Joel Guarda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cete fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. With a little luck, Cete's Cristiano Pinheiro got control of the ball when Daniel Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. When João Viana was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, SC Gaiate's João Viana got a free kick in the 85th minute. When Daniel Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the SC Gaiate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Mendes couldn't finish the play. If Daniel Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Cete's goalkeeper Cristiano Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emílio Fonseca. Daniel Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Cristiano Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Gaiate players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cete.
