The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th match minute, Casalmaninho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Moura to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Marques took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miguel Resende. Miguel Resende dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Casalmaninho's zone, Ricardo Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Resende came out of the goal and Ricardo Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Ferreira made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Augusto Rocha sent off a good shot on target. Carlos Valente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Miguel Resende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Albertino Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Manuel Pinheiro came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Coico FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Pinheiro couldn't finish the play. Mariano Moura hit a great ball. Casalmaninho's Miguel Resende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Casalmaninho from getting a goal against them. David Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Coico FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
