Diogo Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Henriques having to interfere. When Xavier Faria fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verdinho's protests and gave Xavier Faria a yellow card for diving instead. SC Espadaneira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
