After a defensive mix-up in Erada FC's zone, Paulo Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Araújo came out of the goal and Paulo Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tavares in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, Canada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. When Canada's Xavier Coimbra in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Erada FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Canada's João Brito got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Fernando Paredes shot from long distance in the 24th minute, but Joaquim Coelho was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Coimbra in the 25th minute of play forced Erada FC's goalkeeper Nuno Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Canada getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. João Brito hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Alberto Tavares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nuno Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Alberto Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cláudio Borges who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Joaquim Coelho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Figueiredo during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Miguel Figueiredo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Tavares made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Paulo Porto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Xavier Coimbra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canada's supporters rose to their feet, but Xavier Coimbra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nuno Araújo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. João Brito hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Joaquim Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erada FC's Nuno Araújo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Erada FC from getting a goal against them. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canada's goalkeeper Joaquim Coelho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Coimbra in the 72nd minute of play forced Erada FC's goalkeeper Nuno Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Cláudio Borges cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Joaquim Coelho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joaquim Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Borges in the 81st minute of play. Paulo Porto struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Nuno Araújo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canada. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canada's goalkeeper Joaquim Coelho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Canada players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Erada FC.
