When Vasco Coimbra came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Cascalheira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasco Coimbra couldn't finish the play. Gustavo Pereira struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Emílio Faria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Azinheira. When Cascalheira FC's Cristiano Morais in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Azinheira's goalie prevented a goal. In the 9th minute, Cristiano Morais got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Cascalheira FC booed when SC Azinheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vasco Coimbra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Silva having to interfere. Emílio Brito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Emílio Faria made a huge save. Cristiano Morais recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Azinheira's zone, Vasco Coimbra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandro Silva came out of the goal and Vasco Coimbra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vasco Coimbra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Silva having to interfere. After 25 played minutes SC Azinheira got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Pinho. After 27 played minutes, Cascalheira FC's Lúcio Fernandes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sandro Silva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cascalheira FC reached it. In the 30th minute Gustavo Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vasco Coimbra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Cristiano Morais made a precise shot to the right of Sandro Silva. SC Azinheira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vasco Coimbra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sandro Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristiano Morais in the 52nd minute. In the 55th match minute, Cascalheira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Araújo to maneuver through the defense. Emílio Faria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustavo Pereira's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. The Cascalheira FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emílio Faria should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Faria during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, SC Azinheira's Sandro Silva got control of the ball when Vasco Coimbra tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristiano Morais sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emílio Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out.
