The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Maxiaes getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Jorge Nascimento hit a great ball. The supporters of Arnoia FC booed when Maxiaes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafael Pires made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Mário Ramos sent off a good shot on target. Mário Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maxiaes's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Jorge Leiria scored to the left of an out of position Rafael Pires, making the score, 1-0. Rafael Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Leiria in the 38th minute of play. Nuno Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Alfredo Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
