David Pinto was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rui Pedroso. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Moreira in the 15th minute of play forced Viduedo's goalkeeper Viriato Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Miguel Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 23 minutes of play Viduedo's Manuel Sousa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 23rd match minute, Viduedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Sousa to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th match minute, Viduedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Esteves to maneuver through the defense. António Santarém was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 27th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Joel Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Viriato Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Figueiredo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Viriato Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Figueiredo in the 39th minute of play. Eusébio Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viriato Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 49 minutes into the match, Alferce's goalkeeper David Pinto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Lopes. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Branco made a kick off. Miguel Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Viriato Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eusébio Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th match minute, Viduedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Neto to maneuver through the defense. When Alferce's Joel Branco in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Viduedo's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Joel Branco sped through Viduedo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Viriato Paredes. Alferce's Joel Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rui Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The Alferce supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alferce would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
